WINEMAKING
We looked to several regions in California to source our grapes including Sonoma Valley, Russian River Valley and Arroyo Seco in Monterey. Each area lends unique flavor components and structure to the final blend. Grapes were harvested during the cooler night and morning hours to preserve the fruit’s delicate flavors. After a gentle pressing, the must is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with Burgundian yeasts. A small portion of the blend underwent malolactic fermentation adding a creamy note and softening the mouthfeel. For this vintage, we added a touch of Muscat to lift the wine’s floral notes.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
A lovely balance of fruit and richness, Lucky Star Chardonnay is full of Gravenstein apple, stone fruit and Anjou pear flavors balanced by citrus notes and a smooth, creamy finish. After a long hard day, reward yourself with a glass or serve with grilled shrimp, pasta with cream sauce or smoked chicken salad with apples and walnuts.
